Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

所以iPad2 就是他的遺作，早上與Kenny討論時，下了這樣的結論。去年iPhone 4驚艷世界時，我認為那就是他最後代表作，沒想到還撐到今年發表新的平板電腦，讓平板進入殺戮時代。74%的佔有率應該還能讓繼任者可以支撐一些日子，good job, Steve.

時節也進入秋天，東北風冷冷地吹來催黃了牆上的爬牆虎，紅了枯了，逐漸落下，露出夏天綠葉下隱藏的枝梗，更添蕭瑟。看著小蓁新生兒的成長笑容，對比一個傳奇的隕落，複雜的情緒交錯，在這樣的季節裡。特別是我還沒存夠錢買MacBook , iPhone, iPad…..>”<

盡管很早就有人寫好Jobs的訃聞，但檢閱Mac Rumors上名人們的悼念文還是很有意思。特別是我荒廢了一段時間沒念英文^^”

Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.

For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.

整個來說，現任執行長Tim Cook寫得簡潔有力，放在官方首頁再恰當不過；Disney總裁說得很真誠，然而賈伯斯在2005年史丹佛學位授予典禮的演講更是發人深省，盡管他自己說不想講得那麼dramatic，對處在尷尬年紀的我，得更加認真思考，是否正在虛度人生！

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. iBank 4

The Old Time

個人使用Excel方式記帳已有幾個年頭，覺得成效還不錯，由於不太會作Excel圖表，也不知道怎樣作帳款分類，想想還是找現成軟體比較快些。評估了很多軟體，有的非常專業例如Quicken──表示很複雜，有的可能又稍嫌陽春，或是有平台限制，於是我選了最符合Mac Style的iBank。

New iBank 4

四五月到今天也使用了半年多，iBank 3大致上表現中規中矩，無意發現新版(iBank 4)推出，新功能Envelope Budget挺吸引我，而且似乎改善交易輸入(Transactions – streamlined input)不夠便捷的毛病，升級的念頭隱隱作祟！下面作點簡單的分析，稍微踩踩煞車，抑制點衝動，哈！

Streamlined input: Edit transactions directly in the account register using a familiar check-style editor. Now featuring improved keyboard entry for mouse-free record-keeping!

Budgets: New envelope-style budgeting allows you to set goals for your income and expenses, save money in envelopes to cover your regular expenses, carry over savings from month to month, and transfer cash between envelopes to balance out fluctuations in your budget. Standard budgeting from iBank 3 is also available, and multiple budgets let you track different sets of categories for different goals.

Importing

受限於台灣地區的銀行都沒有提供線上電子交易資料下載──至少我最常交易的永豐金就沒有──同步帳戶交易(Direct Download)的功能就廢了！如此一來你就得常常手動登打交易資料，例如ATM提款，轉帳之類的。所幸程式會記憶之前交易過的對象(Payee)，自動帶入Category與Transaction Type(Withdraw, POS, Deposit, etc.)，可以稍微減少項目點選，新功能Transaction Template不知道有沒有更好用。有時候相同的交易對象，可能會有不同的交易型態，例如Payee中華電信，對我來說可能有ADSL與Cell Phone兩個分類，銀行交易可能是扣款也可能是存款，iBank 3就沒轍了，你得再手動修正預帶的值。

Investment

投資部份，如果有作信用交易，就不知道怎麼設定才能讓帳戶價值正確，例如『融券賣出』，雖然是『賣出』，卻是產生『支付』動作，新版的Expert trading是不是有解決？

Investment types: Track stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, CDs, money market funds, precious metals, commodities, and stock options with ease. You can also enter watchlist items and indices for quick reference.

Security management: Check the current market value and price history for each of your securities at a glance, adjust security names and ticker symbols, and check the performance of indices.

Expert trading: iBank now supports short and long puts and calls, stock option trading, and more.

Widgets

Widgets還沒有更新，也就是iBank 3提供Dashboard小元件(widget)，讓你可以不用打開iBank就可以快速輸入交易資料，特別是每天簡單地輸入午餐花了多少錢吃了什麼來說，非常方便。截至今日4.0.2版還沒有對應的Widgets Pack可下載。

最後，如果沒有愛瘋或其他行動裝置，那麼下面的功能就是多餘啦！只是水果裝置都貴森森，掂掂自個兒荷包再說吧^^”

小結

還是過些時日再說，或是自己有了『麥書』時（不知何年何月><）。那時候版本應該比較成熟，並且可能提供Dashboard Widget。Anway，有機會陸續分享使用心得。

想升級五版是因為支援3D加速，之前老婆喜歡裝些遊戲來玩，偏偏虛擬機不支援，我得另外用Boot Camp方式，另作Windows開機磁區，相當浪費硬碟空間，畢竟當時內建300G，虛擬機與Boot Camp兩套Windows XP就佔用近100G空間，等於去掉了三分之一！！

用了幾天的Paralles 5，坦白說不太習慣，而且效能不是很好，不過Coherence & Crystal模式非常的酷，直接將Windows『開始』選單偽裝成Mac風格的應用程式資料夾，方便使用者從Dock上啟用。晚上就來給它升級一下，再報告一下是否真的如廣告詞兒，發揮Mac全部效能，full 64-bit engine!!

BTW，我另外架了個Wiki站台，以後可能把技術細節整理到Wiki內，方便作反覆編修。

分享圖片，主要是紀錄BE500第一次使用時，必須拆解外蓋將電池連接的情形。插上電源後，側邊會顯示小紅燈表示電力配置不合安規，應該是老房子沒有設計地線的緣故，一般台灣的電力設計普遍沒有，或許要很新的豪宅會有吧？

WD My Book Studio

另外有兩張是WD Book Studio，最大的特色就是磁碟機正面有液晶螢幕，可以顯示目前硬碟剩餘空間，並且可以透過軟體變更顯示標籤，例如我設定為MY BOOK。Book Studio是我第一個Firewire 800設備，大概也是最後一個，iMac 24上只有一個FW800，其他都是FW400，IEEE 1394規格也不知道還有沒有明天，不管了，就用到不支援為止吧。

Mac OS X Leopard的時光機器(Time Machine) 在沒有額外的硬碟時，是無法使用的，因此當我插上Book Studio時，系統馬上就問我是否要當作備份硬碟，玩了三年Mac OS 第一次用這功能，^^”。坦白說，Time Machine真的是非常的酷炫，畫面我就不貼了，有興趣的人自己搜尋蘋果官網，如果有更進一步的心得在分享吧，畢竟還沒遇到系統Crash的情形(但最 好別有)，當然也不一定是系統壞掉才有用，其實可以用來作系統移轉，例如更換新主機硬碟時，也可以用，無奈iMac更換硬碟工程浩大，花點錢給店家處理比 較適合我^^

分享當天女兒的隨手拍，並且做了點Lightroom筆刷練習，呵呵

女兒拿著危險工具老虎鉗，之後掉到地板，磁磚馬上缺了一角，老房子受災，幸好沒砸到腳！

April找到螺絲起子工具盒，嘗試破壞的前一刻。我很喜歡的畫面，多做了點後製版本比較。

這之後的幾天感染病毒，嘴巴破又發燒，吃東西會痛，半夜經常痛醒，持續了好幾天，到今天還沒完全好，我可憐的孩子

原本是閱讀馬力歐的『我看2010智慧型手機：六大作業系統戰力分析』，不知不覺地關聯到HTML5 vs Flash，大概是因為我也感受到Mac OS上的Flash效能實在不好，加上Flash支援也是我對智慧型手機iPhone的考量之一，平常在家裡用iMac種田就覺得有些頓頓的，Firefox又比Safari好一點，沒有很順暢的感覺，加上Mighty Mouse藍芽鼠反應不如羅技2.4GHz無線滑鼠，玩遊戲時經常感到有些不耐。

HTML5支援影音似乎是iPhone Flash議題的解決方案，只是不知道要何時才會成熟，而且資費要再合理一點，我才可能考慮加入愛瘋機 (OS: ADSL, 手機都是你的用戶耶，可不可以少收一點呀，中X電信！)。目前最流通的HTML 4規格早已是十年前(1997, 4.0.1 1999)制定的，等到HTML5規格制定完善到大量運用，再等個五年也很正常！只不過屆時智慧型手機市場版圖又會怎樣變動，就不是我能想像的呀….

這個線上塗鴉實在太好玩啦，你一定要試試看，特別是圖樣(pattern)加上印章(stamp)工具，我超喜歡那些蝴蝶與樹葉的模板，pattern竟然還有高第(Gaudi)耶，好有藝術感呀！
